UFOs, From a Supernatural Realm?

“As a professor of the history of religion, I study reports of miraculous events and afterlife worlds in Christian history. This includes sightings of ariel beings of light, miraculous flying houses…monks and nuns who levitate and bilocate…[UFOs are] similar to religion because people see things in the sky, ariel objects…[and] UFO contact events include supernatural and paranormal elements that influence people’s lives.”- Diana Pasulka, Encounters

In part 1 of this series, Are We Alone in the Universe? we looked at what is the surprising (to some) reality of the rarity of life in the universe. In part 2, Are Aliens Among Us? we examined the nonexistent information that comes of the cyclic UFO/UAP flaps. The promised “disclosure” never comes, the alleged proof never materializes.

What of the small percentage of UFOs that can’t be explained away as misidentifications, frauds, or terrestrial technology? Professor Diana Pasulka isn’t the first to note similarities to what are often classified as supernatural, paranormal, or religious experiences. Unlike what she studied in Christian history, which were largely positive experiences, some UFO experiencers she spoke to, described “intense and dark energy” or los demonios: The Demons.

This isn’t surprising, as UFOs have a long history tied to abductions, terrible dreams, abuse, and other terrors. Many debunkers try to find rational explanations, but the problem is they predefine rational as anything excluding supernatural. Our ancestors were superstitious and unscientific, supposedly. We know better, don’t we? However, should we so easily cast aside voluminous stories and experiences from countless generations? Is that rational?

Astronomer Hugh Ross, has written on the multidimensional universe in Beyond the Cosmos, which allows for the existence of entities not bound by the four-dimensional existence as we humans are. In the book he coauthored on UFOs, Lights in the Sky and Little Green Men, Hugh Ross calls the “unexplainable” UFO events RUFOs: Residual Unidentified Flying Objects. He argues evil entities are behind many of these encounters and that this is a testable claim. He has said:

“All that is necessary to further prove the conclusion of demonic involvements is to continue surveying people to ascertain who has encounters with RUFOs and who does not” and it’s not hard to find a “correlation between the degree of invitations in a persons life to demonic attacks (séance, Ouija boards, astrology, witchcraft, palm or psychic reading.”

Have we prematurely tossed the beliefs of our ancestors, thinking they knew less than us? Have we decided a priori what we want to be true? Beliefs can be based on facts, but as Pasulka writes, sometimes, “belief has nothing to do with what is true.”

Derek Gilbert, coauthor of The Day the Earth Stands Still, has stated, “We have been visited by inhuman human entities for thousands and thousands of years.” These have been recorded in many ancient texts and traditions. Gilbert asserts that modern RUFOs similarity to paranormal experiences are “too many to be coincidence.” These are a “spiritual, supernatural attack from the demonic realm.”

Many serious researchers explore theses events and this history in far more detail. It’s easy to dismiss things that make us uncomfortable, or we have been told cannot be true.

But what if this world truly has been at war for many millennia, and what if the greatest weapon of the enemy is to convince us none of the stories from our ancestors are true?

Many great thinkers and writers have seen through the lie. Perhaps we should take care to not easily fall to deception. We can’t win a war by pretending the enemy doesn’t exist.

Ancient Aliens? No, our Ancestors Weren’t Dumb.

Ancient Aliens is one of those infuriating shows to those who have studied ancient history. The premise of the show is that the ancients weren’t smart enough to build structures like the pyramids. So, in one of the most disconnected lines of reasoning ever, they must have had help from aliens.

The fact is, the ancients were smart. They had the same brains we have. The more we learn about them, the more we have realized this.

Because something is difficult to do, doesn’t make it impossible. We are so enamored with our electronic technology, we forget that humans used math and brain power, combined with physical strength, for many millennia.

To listen to some of the “experts” on Ancient Aliens, it’s as if they haven’t been to these sites, or if they have, they had blindfolds on. One of the funniest moments is when one is showing how perfect a block has been carved (supposedly beyond the ability of the ancients), but the camera shows his square revealing the block is far from perfect. That’s only one of many head-scratching moments revealed in this documentary, Ancient Aliens Debunked.

To be certain, there are many mysteries to be solved from ancient times. Much has been lost and every day we learn something new. The ancients left us much to learn in their structures, stories, and myths. Over the years, I have written here about those things, and integrated them into my books. Our ancestors left us history, knowledge, and warnings, to ponder.

Not aliens.

Under the Moons of Mars

Mars has always weighed heavy on man’s imagination. Since ancient times, the red planet has hung in the sky taunting us. Before space probes revealed it to be a dead world, it was where many authors set their adventures. Even afterwords, it has still lured writers there. First Burroughs and Bradbury explored the races among the red canyons and hills of the dying world. Even much later, Ben Bova’s manned mission to Mars found hints of a lost civilization.

Perhaps the allure of Mars stays strong, in spite of being empty of cities and canals, because it still is seen as the most livable planet after Earth. That’s not saying much, considering how quickly one would die on its surface. But as planets go, it has resources that can be converted to fuels and supplies. And even better, perhaps it can be terraformed into a livable planet as outlined in Kim Stanley Robinson’s epic Mars Trilogy (starting with Red Mars). Robert Zubrin, in his The Case for Mars, describes how we can get there and why we should.

Recent years have seen a growing armada of robots to Mars. It is obvious that its ancient hold on us has not gone away. While many people can’t break away from their televisions, the distant red sands still call on that part remaining inside of many humans that wants to explore and push our race forward out of the mud. Yes, there are those alien enthusiasts who get excited every time a rock looks like a “bone” or something and then conspiracy theories come out of the woodwork. Sorry, as much as we would like otherwise, Mars has not been hospitable to complex life even in the best of times. In fact, the universe is likely very barren. Most people look out at all the stars and think, “There must be millions of worlds out there teeming with life!” Yet, even statistics must yield to physics. The requirements for life are so specific and narrow, there are few places out there that could harbor others like us (or unlike us).

Some think it depressing we may be all alone. Others still think advanced aliens are flying here in little ships that buzz cars in remote locations and crash a lot. Then perhaps, as many have suggested, maybe because we are here against impossible odds, we are special after all?

Even after all these centuries, Mars still calls on us to find our place and purpose in the universe. That is why writers will still explore the red sands until others finally set foot where water once flowed.

No E.T. Here

A little aside for today: For those who still think “crop circles,” especially intricate ones, can only be explained by aliens, see this.
