“We stand here today, closer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than every before. Political elite warmongers are carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers…We must reject this path to nuclear war and work toward a world where no one has to live in fear of a nuclear holocaust.” – Tulsi Gabbard
When Tulsi Gabbard first posted this video, it triggered the warmongers and the Death Cult.
Those in power, and those who think they have power, and think using nuclear weapons is a good idea, and such usage comes with no consequences, were exposed. They didn’t want you to know how horrific these weapons are.
We’ve always had sociopaths who thought it no big deal to first strike others and kill millions. Luckily, the intelligent people ruled the day. JFK resisted calls to launch strikes on the Soviet Union. Reagan wanted to find a way to make ballistic missiles obsolete (missile defense).
Others, though, then and now, seem to think nuclear holocaust is a viable option. Rhetoric about destroying civilizations by politicians, religious figures, and alleged influencers, is despicable, as are those who try to rationalize away and defend their leaders as they march the world off a cliff. We are given talking points of why this all okay.
Wasn’t Iran supposedly going to attack the United States? Iran wasn’t going to launch a nuke (which it did not have) at a country that has thousands of them. Their government has problems, but it’s never been suicidal.
To avoid defending their position, the death-obsessed commentators, attacked Gabbard for trying to “revise” history of WWII, or daring to criticize the “good war.” A cause may be just, but no war is good. Only the ignorant or a warmonger would claim otherwise. No war is beyond judgement and review, including WWII. The bombing of civilians was not without controversy then, and certainly should not be above question now.
We opened this Pandora’s Box with nuclear weapons. That doesn’t mean we should be opening it further. Nuclear weapons are an evil we chose to unleash once, and in unexplainable madness, built thousands of them. In one of the great ironies of humanity, many countries have nuclear weapons so others won’t use theirs against them.
We must never be the first again.
